Welcome to Healey Hall

The quiet dignity of this 14,000 sq feet, private mansion marks a historical landmark of the district.

Healey formerly known as Heley meaning "high pasture" gave its name to a localfamily at an early date. It occupies a prominent position on an elavated slope within 12 acres of land above the Dell, somewhat diffrent to any of the other ancient halls.

Its unobstructed view of 10, 20, 30 or 40 miles is not merley enjoyable but thrilling.

1774 witnessed the erection of the present greystone hall. It preceded the old hall taken down a year before itself built in 1618. The old hall itself preceeded a timber built hall and it is believed that the first hall built on the site was in 1250, built by the Heley's.

Healey Hall is for sale. Guide Price £1.8 Million. Planning granted for 2 bed cottage with double garage in grounds.

A remarkable feature about Healey Hall and its grounds is the number of inscribed stones, the oldest of which can be found over the archway adjoining the coach house dated 1250.

Over the main entrance at the apex or pediment of the building is a very large stone, which is stated required seven horses to bring it from Blackstone Edge.

Upon this stone there has been as inscription of about 400 words in Latin, summarizing the history of the Chadwick family.

The romance that is associated with this beauty spot, Healey Dell, is truly encapsulated within this hall.

Healey Hall is located 3 miles from all the amenities of Rochdale Town centre. The Hall is within easy reach of the M62 motorway, bus and rail links.
